Lincoln Co. Economic Development Survey Regarding YMCA

Message from Julie Rodgers, Lincoln County  Economic Development:

I am very excited to share a new project with you. In collaboration with a local steering committee, The Gateway Region YMCA is exploring the presence of YMCA programs, services, and a possible facility in the future. Together, we want to understand the issues and needs in our community. As you may know, the YMCA strives to make a significant impact on the lives of the people and communities it serves.

Now is an important time for our community, and we really need your help! Your input is important to help inform the Lincoln County steering committee and the Gateway Region YMCA leadership on programs, services, and facilities that are being considered for the future. We are asking all Lincoln County partners and residents to share their thoughts in a brief survey. It should take about 10 minutes. Personal information will not be connected to the survey results.

National Flood Insurance Program

Several residents have asked me about flood insurance stating that they were told they could not get flood insurance. That is incorrect.  I contacted SEMA and they gave me the following information to share with you:

“Because the City of Moscow Mills participates in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) everyone inside the City limits of Moscow Mills can buy flood insurance.  No matter what flood zones you are in (low, moderate or high-risk zones).  To find a flood insurance agent in your area go to www.floodsmart.gov .  Select the tab of “Buying a policy”, then “find an insurance provider”.  Then choose Mo. and a list of insurance providers with contact information will be shown.  Or call SEMA at 573-526-9100 (main number) and ask for anyone in the Floodplain Section as they can help you also.”   FEMA says anywhere it rains it can flood, get a quote, it doesn’t cost to get a quote.

Have a great day Moscow Mills!
